Destiny 2 won’t add dedicated servers, not even on PC

If you were unhappy with Destiny‘s use of peer-to-peer connections, you might want to sit down for this one: Destiny 2 will not be getting dedicated servers, on either its console or PC versions. While peer-to-peer connections have experienced a lot of negative press recently in games like For Honor, you can feel a little bit at ease to know that Bungie promises that it is aware of connectivity issues that faced the first Destiny and that “there is new tech coming,” according to PC lead David Shaw, although it’s too early to know what that tech is. This news follows the recent reveal that, while the game will have an uncapped frame rate on the PC, it will be locked at 30 FPS on consoles, even the PS4 Pro. But at least console gamers will be able to play the game on September 8th, whereas the PC gamers do not yet have a confirmed release date. One thing is for certain: Destiny 2 will look damn good in 4K. (Console players might want to avert their gazes.)

PLAYSTATION 4 fans can look forward to seeing more from God of WarSony has announced its full PlayStation Live schedule for E3 2017. PlayStation Live will have all the PS4 games news and demonstrations, starting from 5pm PDT on June 12., Spider-Man, The Last of Us 2 and perhaps even Final Fantasy VII Remake at E3 2017. This means PS4 fans in the UK will be able to tune in from 1am on June 13. The first broadcast features the PlayStation Media Showcase, where Sony is expected to preview God of War, The Last of Us 2 and Spider-Man. Needless to say, Sony will also make some brand new game announcements during the conference. PlayStation Live will broadcast non-stopE3 coverage from 12pm until 6pm local time (8pm - 2am in the UK) on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a 12pm - 4pm PST (8pm to midnight in the UK) stream on Thursday, June 15. 2K promises return of ‘biggest franchise‘, Maybe another Borderlands?

Publisher, and Rockstar Games owner, Take Two Interactive has teased a major new sequel, but is it Borderlands 3 or not? Most gamers may not have been too bothered about Red Dead Redemption 2’s delay, since it likely ensures the game’s high quality, but it had a serve effect on Rockstar owner Take Two Interactive’s share price. Especially as they had to admit to investors that they currently have ‘an unusually light release slate’, as a result of the delay. But in their financial results they do make a reference to ‘a highly anticipated new title from one of 2K’s biggest franchises’ helping to buoy up next year’s results (next financial year that is, so sometime after April 2018). They offered no clue as to what this franchise is, although the wording implies it’s not anything to do with Rockstar or a 2K sports title. The obvious guess is that it’s Borderlands 3, although technically that’s a Gearbox game and 2K are just the publisher. Although they’re unlikely to make that...
